The choir presents six concerts in Vancouver, British Columbia; Seattle, Washington; Eugene, Oregon; and San Francisco. A total of 47 singers from 3 of LACC's choirs are participating in the tour, including Chamber Singers and Concert Choir for treble voices led by LACC Artistic Director Fernando Malvar-Ruiz, and Young Men's Ensemble for singers with changing voices led by Eric Lifland.
The public is invited to a free local send-off concert on Monday, June 22, 2026, 7:00 pm, at Pasadena Presbyterian Church. The program features a sampling of the repertoire each of the three choirs will be performing individually and jointly on the tour, among them timeless masterworks, compelling arrangements of traditional folk songs, and contemporary choral treasures. The event is free and seating is on a first come first served basis (no reservations required). Pasadena Presbyterian Church, located at 585 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California 91101.
LACC's West Coast tour begins in Vancouver with a performance at Pacific Spirit United Church, a stunning 1928 stone structure noted for its exceptional acoustics (June 25). The singers then head south for two performances in Seattle, the first at a location to be announced (June 27) and the other at the Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, featuring striking art deco ornamentation (June 28).
Continuing to Oregon, LACC next appears in a joint concert with the noted Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy as part of the acclaimed Oregon Bach Festival at the Central Lutheran Church in Eugene, a mid-century gem defined by its eloquent simplicity (June 30).
For the culmination of the West Coast tour, LACC joins the San Francisco Boys Chorus for a program at the historic Calvary Presbyterian Church in Pacific Heights (July 3) then celebrates the milestone 250th Anniversary of the United States with a performance on the Piazza Stage at the California Academy of Sciences located in the heart of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park (July 4). The singers return home on July 5.
Los Angeles Children's Chorus was formed in 1986, with just 50 young singers who were recruited for a local performance with the William Hall Chorale of Benjamin Britten 's War Requiem, a moving anti-war manifesto that prominently features the ethereal sound of a children's choir to underscore the tragic impact of war on the young. Since that fateful engagement, LACC has never looked back, growing into a cultural powerhouse. LACC is now widely recognized as one of the world's preeminent youth choirs, lauded as “hauntingly beautiful” (Los Angeles Times), and “one of the true artistic gems of Los Angeles” ( Gustavo Dudamel ). The Choir annually serves more than 500 children ages 6–18 from 40+ communities across Southern California through its seven choirs and two first experience classes, First Experiences in Singing and Next Experiences in Singing. More than 30% of choir members receive scholarships.
Los Angeles Children's Chorus's 2026 season is made possible, in part, by generous support from the State of California, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, City of Pasadena, Ann Peppers Foundation, Colburn Foundation, Green Foundation, Ralph M. Parsons Foundation, Pasadena Community Foundation, and Capital Group. LACC is also deeply grateful to lead patrons Helen and Peter Bing, Gerald Ducot, and the hundreds of other individuals, foundations, corporations, and governmental agencies whose support makes possible the Chorus's music education and performance programs.
Pasadena Presbyterian Church, the location of the free send-off concert, is located at 585 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California 91101. For information on LACC, please visit www.lachildrenschorus.org or call (626) 793-4231.
