Audiences will have an opportunity to experience actor John Malkovich in Report on the Blind, a unique theatrical and musical performance presented by Kammarmusikens Vänner (Friends of Chamber Music) on June 23, 2026.

Taking place on the Main Stage, the evening combines literature, drama, and classical music in a program featuring Malkovich alongside pianist Anastasya Terenkova and the Funäs Chamber Soloists. Performances are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with the evening performance already sold out and only limited seats remaining for the afternoon presentation.

The program opens with The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, one of the most beloved works in classical music. Performed by the Funäs Chamber Soloists, the concert will feature actor Johan Rabaeus, who will interweave prose and reflections between the movements, offering audiences fresh perspectives on the enduring masterpiece.

Following the intermission, Malkovich takes the stage in Report on the Blind, a dramatic work inspired by a section of On Heroes and Tombs by Argentine author Ernesto Sabato. The performance explores a man's obsessive and unsettling search for the origins of evil, blending spoken word with music in a powerful theatrical experience.

Malkovich's recitation is accompanied by Russian composer Alfred Schnittke 's expressive Concerto for Piano and String Orchestra, performed by Terenkova and the Funäs Chamber Soloists. The combination of Sabato's haunting text, Schnittke's emotionally charged score, and Malkovich's commanding Stage Presence creates a compelling fusion of literature and music.

Running approximately one hour and 55 minutes, including an intermission, the event promises an evening of artistic exploration that bridges classical music, storytelling, and theatrical performance. With only a limited number of tickets remaining, the production is expected to be one of the season's most distinctive cultural offerings.
