Katy Perry had a memorable night in New York City on Monday as she celebrated the premiere of her upcoming documentary, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris , at the Tribeca Festival.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet , Perry discussed how the project differs from 2012’s Katy Perry: Part of Me , which offered an intimate look at her personal life.
“This is so different than the documentary Part of Me . This is really a concert experience for my fans all over the world,” she said. “I got to go to 91 places around the world — or less, because I did a couple of shows in the same place. But I want to go to India, I want to go to the Philippines, I want to go to Indonesia. I want to go to other places in South Asia, I want to go to Africa, all those places. I couldn’t economically bring my show there. And physically, I am a mother as well. So this is a chance for all of them to enjoy The Lifetimes .”

Directed by Paul Dugdale, the full-length concert film captures Perry’s The Lifetimes tour, which supported the singer’s sixth studio album, 143 . Filmed in Paris in November 2025, the sci-fi-inspired production featured Perry singing upside down at times, riding a winged creature and performing many of her biggest hits.
The singer also reflected on the challenges she faced throughout the tour and what she believes has carried her through difficult moments.
“They might have forgotten my resilience,” Perry told THR . “I think I am very resilient despite the constant curveballs of my life. I move forward even if the dogs bark.”
During a post-screening Q&A, Perry elaborated on that sentiment.
“Last year was probably one of the hardest years of my life, and I went through a fuck ton, and there were days that were really, really, really, really hard,” she said. “I just kept going, because I made a promise to my fans, I made a promise to my daughter, I made a promise to myself and I got through it.”
Though she did not mention specifics, 2025 saw Perry and Orlando Bloom end their engagement. Perry also faced backlash after joining other celebrities aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin spacecraft for an 11-minute trip to space.
The pop star also shared how much her life has changed since beginning the tour, particularly when it comes to her relationship with Justin Trudeau.
“I would say now, at the end of 91 shows, I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life. I am very in love. After that show, I met the love of my life,” she said. “To have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”
Trudeau joined Perry at the premiere, where the couple made their red carpet debut together. The former Canadian prime minister was seen singing along throughout the screening, while the pair — who first sparked romance rumors in July 2025 — held hands and shared kisses, standing up to dance to the film’s closing performance of “Firework.”
Meanwhile, Perry sat among fans known as KatyCats, singing along to the concert film. At one point, the power briefly went out, but it didn’t affect the lively atmosphere inside the theater; if anything, it ramped things up.
As for what’s next, the former American Idol judge is preparing for a summer festival run.
“I just built a new show for my summer festivals that I’m kicking off in Europe, starting June 18 in Santiago, Spain. I’ve got about 20-plus shows,” she said.
Perry is also set to perform at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup on June 12.
Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris arrives in theaters later this summer.
