Neko Case Unveils Fall Tour, Including Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium

Neko Case announced a new run of “Neon Grey Midnight Green Tour” dates that begin this fall on the East coast and makes its way through the Midwest, including a stop at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville with Neko Case & Friends featuring Jimmie Dale Gilmore (with more artists to be announced).

The tour wraps up with two shows in Case’s hometown of Tacoma, Washington, with legendary Pacific Northwest artists Girl Trouble and Team Dresch. Presales start June 10 at 10:00 AM local time.

Coinciding with the tour, Case is also the composer and lyricist for the forthcoming stage adaptation of “Thelma & Louise: A New Musical,” having been personally selected by original screenwriter Callie Khouri to create the score and songs. The production will premiere this fall at The Young Vic in London, running from Sept. 3 through Oct. 24.

Case’s ninth LP, Neon Grey Midnight Green , is her most intimate-feeling album yet. Released last fall and declared an essential album in her catalog, the album was laid down live with a full band. More “in the room” than any of her past work, even breaths and shirt-sleeve rustlings were kept in the final mix as a reminder that “humans were here.”

“There are so few producers who are women, nonbinary or trans,” stated Case, who identifies as gender fluid. “People don’t think of us as an option. I’m proud to say I produced this record.”

Her memoir The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You was released last year and reached No. 5 on The New York Times nonfiction best sellers list. Named one of the best books of the year by Vulture, The Washington Post, The Globe, Apple and NPR.
