Wishy Announce Sophomore Album ‘Nature’s Pill’ & Share New Single “Lovesick”

Wishy — the CoSigned indie rock darlings from Indiana — have announced their sophomore album. The follow-up to 2024’s excellent Triple Seven , Nature’s Pill is out October 2nd via Winspear.

Per a press release, the conception of the 12-track album proved to be “fundamentally different” than not only Triple Seven but Wishy’s 2023 breakthrough EPs, Mana and Paradise . This time around, primary songwriters Nina Pitchkites and Kevin Krauter included the whole band (guitarist Dimitri Morris, bassist Mitch Collins, and drummer Conner Host) alongside Triple Seven co-producer Ben Lumsdaine.

The resulting album (half of which was tracked live in a space in Los Angeles) sees Wishy “entertain the madness — capturing romantic frustration, neurotic desire, and the melodrama that ensues from simply being human in a jubilant remix of the past.” And while the LP is different in key ways, it also “bears all of Wishy’s trademarks: zany lyrics transfiguring melancholia into freedom, choruses set to become instant classics, and an unholy fusion of sugary grunge, indie rock and dream-pop.”

Krauter said that the one through-line, then, is a pervasive sense of tenacity, adding, “Being in an indie band feels bizarre when the world is on fire. What can you do at the end of the day other than carve out some space — at the very least I have my imagination and I can invite others to join me there. At a certain point you need to say fuck it and roll with it.”

Our first taste of Nature’s Pill comes with lead single “Lovesick.” The press release said the track recalls “The Cure at their most pop-forward and The Sundays at their buoyant best.” And, hey, we can’t argue with that whatsoever. Check it out below.

Then, the band pick right back up in October, including shows in Toronto, Boston, New York, and Minneapolis. Along the way, the band will share the stage with Beach Bunny, Ratboys, and The Beths.
