11 New Songs Released Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out . We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

STARCLEANER REUNION – “WEATHER INSTRUMENT”

NYC’s Starcleaner Reunion play NYC’s Total Bummer Fest on Sunday with the Jesus & Mary Chain, They Are Gutting a Body of Water, Drop Nineteens and more, and to celebrate they’re shared this new single which is their first four Take Care Records and first new music in a while. “Weather Instrument explores the idea of home, whether that be a person or a space. It’s about trying to follow the sunshine as it illuminates the comfort of that home’s familiar contours, and we wanted to land on that musically,” says vocalist and tambourine player Jo Roman. “Asking Gary Olson of The Ladybug Transistor to feature on trumpet brought out the best, clearest representation of that feeling, while lyrically yearning for something just out of focus.”

STAB – “NEW ENGLAND NUMB” (FT. CITIZEN’S MAT KEREKES)

Maine metallic hardcore band Stab have signed to Unbeaten Records and shared their first single for the label, “New England Numb,” which features Citizen’s Mat Kerekes.

IAN SWEET – “JILIAN”

Here’s another single from Ian Sweet’s upcoming album Shiverstruck. “‘Jilian’ is about the small mistakes that somehow make life feel both cruel and hilarious at the same time. Over the past few years, I’ve struggled to understand who I am when everything familiar feels farther away. This song became me speaking directly to myself, calling myself out and finally saying the things out loud that I’ve been avoiding. It’s about realizing I’m still still here and there’s still so much life left to live. This song feels like hitting the reset button.”

JADASEA – “COBRA”

UK rapper Jadasea announced a new album, Holly Grove , due out June 25 via 10k Global. It’s the follow-up to 2024’s great Too Many Tears , and the first single is the hazy “Cobra.”

KELZ – “JUST US 2”

kelz is Vietnamese-American multi-instrumentalist and producer Kelly Truong who will release A Sweet Passerby on July 24 via Bayonet. “At first glance, this is an uplifting love song about a loved one,” Kelly says of this danceable new single from the album. “Alternatively, I view it also as a celebration of independence and freedom. I like to think of this song as a safe space to start the journey of self-reflection through its upbeat and soft sound.”

LOVE SPELLS – “KEEP IT TO YOURSELF”

Sir Taegan Harris has announced his debut album as Love Spells, Love is the Law , due out July 24 via RCA. He’s also shared a new single, the soulful “Keep It To Yourself.” “This song is about realizing everybody doesn’t deserve access to what’s sacred between two people,” he says. “Sometimes love and its problems sound better in private. Some things you just gotta keep to yourself.”

CHANEL BEADS – “DUST IN THE WIND”

Not a cover of the Kansas power-ballad classic, for better or worse.

GUIDED BY VOICES – “ONE LAST BLOW”

Guided by Voices’ 44th album is out this week and one last preview of the album before the whole thing drops. “One Last Blow” has real oomph on the low end while still delivering those patented Bob Pollard earworm hooks.

MAN/WOMAN/CHAINSAW – “GODDAMN, LIZARD MAN!”

Man/Woman/Chainsaw’s Billy Ward says his band’s new single is “a look at the kind of slimy, manipulative magnetism people can carry – you recognise that they’re the worst yet somehow you can still find yourself captivated. We’ve all met a few lizards in our time!”

RAVYN LENAE – “HANDLE”

It’s the third single from Ravyn Lenae’s upcoming third album .

KRISTIN HERSH – “DARK EYED JUNCO”

Kristin Hersh has announced new solo album Sugar on Blackstone which will be out August 18 via Fire Records. Here’s the first single.
