Editorial Standards

The principles that govern reporting, sourcing, attribution, and AI assistance at OriginalTickets.

Last reviewed:

Sourcing & verification

Original reporting at OriginalTickets is sourced from named individuals, official press releases, regulatory filings, and primary documents. When information comes from a single source, we say so. When something cannot be independently verified, we either hold the story or label it explicitly as a report attributed to its origin.

Aggregated headlines

A portion of our news feed is sourced from licensed RSS feeds of partner publications. We display only the headline, a short snippet, the source publication name, and a direct link to the full story at the source. We never republish full articles, and we never strip attribution. Our complete approach to third-party content is documented on our content sourcing page.

Use of AI

OriginalTickets uses generative AI as an editorial assistant for research, structuring, and producing original long-form context pieces. All AI-assisted articles are reviewed by an editor before publication and bear the byline “OriginalTickets Editorial.” AI is never used to fabricate sources, quotes, or statistics. We do not pass off the work of other publications as original reporting, and we do not generate fake quotes from real people.

Verification & fact-checking

Names, titles, dates, venue information, ticket prices, and statistics are verified against primary sources before publication. When numbers come from a third party - a league, a promoter, a box-office tracker - that source is named. Statistical claims are linked to the underlying release where one is publicly available.

Corrections

Errors are corrected promptly and noted at the bottom of the affected article with a dated correction note. A running list of significant corrections is maintained on the corrections page.

Conflicts of interest

Editorial staff disclose financial relationships with the artists, teams, venues, leagues, or companies they cover. Affiliate and commercial partnerships are labeled clearly and never influence coverage. Editors recuse from coverage of entities in which they have a personal or financial relationship.

Anonymous sources

We grant anonymity sparingly and only when the information serves a clear public interest, the source faces legitimate professional risk, and the reporting can be independently corroborated. We do not use anonymous sources for opinion or speculation. When anonymity is granted, we explain the reason in the article.

Diversity of voices

OriginalTickets covers a global live event industry. We pursue source diversity in expert commentary, interview subjects, and contributor bylines, and we evaluate that work on a recurring basis as part of our editorial review.

Mission & coverage priorities

Our mission is to be the most comprehensive, accurate, and useful authority on live entertainment for fans, industry workers, and reporters. We prioritize stories that affect ticket buyers, working musicians and athletes, venue operators, and the structural health of the live event economy.
