Content Sourcing & Attribution
Where every story on OriginalTickets comes from - and how we credit the publications, sources, and tools behind it.
Last reviewed:
Two streams of coverage
OriginalTickets publishes two kinds of content. The first is original editorial - long-form analysis, context pieces, interviews, reviews, and explainers produced by the OriginalTickets editorial team. The second is aggregated headlines - short summaries of stories breaking elsewhere in the live event press, with a clear pointer to the source.
Original reporting
Original articles are bylined to a named OriginalTickets reporter or to “OriginalTickets Editorial” when produced collaboratively. Sources are named in-line wherever possible. Statistics and financial figures are attributed to the underlying release, league filing, or industry tracker. When we quote a public figure, the quote is sourced to the original interview or release.
Licensed RSS aggregation
For breaking news, OriginalTickets aggregates headlines from a fixed set of partner publications via their public RSS feeds, including (but not limited to): Billboard, Pollstar, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME, ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, NCAA, SB Nation, Playbill, BroadwayWorld, The Stage, and Broadway League. For each aggregated story we display only:
- The original headline (unmodified).
- A snippet no longer than 300 characters.
- The source publication name, prominently displayed.
- A direct, non-cloaked link to the full article at the source.
- An optional 2–3 paragraph original commentary block clearly labeled as OriginalTickets context.
We do not republish full articles. We do not strip or hide attribution. We do not modify source headlines for SEO or clickbait. If you operate a publication and want your feed removed, see the DMCA page.
Primary documents & data
Wherever the underlying source is a press release, league transaction wire, securities filing, court document, or set list database, we cite and link to the primary document directly. Box-office and tour-revenue figures are sourced from Pollstar Boxoffice, Billboard Boxscore, or league-published figures and are labeled accordingly.
AI assistance
OriginalTickets uses generative AI as an editorial tool - for outlining long-form pieces, drafting initial context blocks on aggregated stories, and producing structured artist, venue, team, and city reference pages. Every AI-assisted piece is reviewed by an editor before publication and bears the byline “OriginalTickets Editorial.” AI is never used to invent quotes, fabricate sources, or generate fake statistics. Our complete AI policy is part of our editorial standards.
Images
Hero images on aggregated stories are sourced from the partner publication's RSS feed when available. Original editorial images are either licensed, captured by OriginalTickets, or generated as illustrative graphics and labeled as such. We do not pass off illustrations as photojournalism.
Affiliate links
OriginalTickets includes affiliate links to ticketing platforms in some articles. Affiliate links are labeled in-line and never determine which stories we cover. See our about page for ownership and funding details.
