Adam Scott Auditioned for Hellraiser 6, Despite Dying in Hellraiser 4
Adam Scott, who previously died in "Hellraiser 4," tried out for "Hellraiser 6," jokingly thinking "Maybe they won't notice." He has since returned to horror, starring in Damian McCarthy's "Hokum."

Adam Scott has looked back on a time he auditioned for 2002’s Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker, despite having been killed off earlier in the franchise.

The Severance actor made his feature film debut with 1996’s Hellraiser IV: Bloodline , in which he played Jacques, the assistant to Mickey Cottrell’s Duc de L’Isle, who is eventually killed by Angelique (Valentina Vargas).
“Things don’t go great. I think someone bites my face off,” he told Seth Meyers during a recent appearance on Late Night . “My agent sent me an audition for Hellraiser VI , and I’m like, ‘Now, wait a second … I was in Hellraiser IV ,” Scott recalled, saying that while he was fully aware his character did not make it, he desperately needed a job.
“So I’m like, ‘Screw it,’ and I go to the audition just thinking, ‘Maybe they won’t notice that I was in Hellraiser IV .” The Parks and Recreation star remembered being in the waiting room and seeing a producer from the earlier film in the office, and holding his papers to hide his face. “[I was] just like, ‘OK, if he doesn’t see me and they think I do a good job, maybe I’ll get in Hellraiser VI as well.’”
Ultimately, he didn’t end up booking the role, and joked that the producers made the decision because of his acting, rather than the continuity error. However, he has since returned to the horror genre, and plays an author who encounters supernatural horrors in Damian McCarthy’s Hokum .
The film follows author Ohm Bauman who travels to a remote part of Ireland to spread the ashes of his deceased parents, unaware that his rented accommodation could be haunted.
NME gave Hokum a two-star-review , with Jordan Bassett writing: “A murder mystery collides with a haunted hotel horror until one of them is pretty much forgotten about, resulting in a narrative that feels frustratingly aimless.
It actually becomes slightly difficult to make out what’s going on, given that two of the supporting characters are so similar and underdeveloped that it’s hard to tell them apart. And as for the ending: we won’t spoil anything, but the dreaded words “it was all a dream” come to mind.”
There are several needle drops between the supernatural horrors, including tracks by Moby and Julie Lavery – and you can find a list of all the songs featured in the film here .
Elsewhere, the actor recently reflected on the creation of Parks and Rec , saying it wouldn’t be the same show if it was made in the Trump era .
