Written by Irving Berlin and directed and choreographed by Broadway Alumni, Naomi Naughton , this comedic, energetic headline musical stars veteran top talent from The Poconos, including Megan Fry as Annie Oakley, Max Kubiak as Frank Butler , Dante Giammarco as Buffalo Bill Cody, Deven Windisch as Charlie Davenport, Sean Cortes as Tommy Keeler, and Anna Jeffries as Winnie Tate.
Directed and choreographed by Naomi Naughton , Annie Get Your Gun centers around the dynamic relationship between Annie Oakley and Frank Butler . Annie Oakley is the best shot around, and she manages to support her little brother and sisters by selling the game that she hunts. When she's discovered by Buffalo Bill, he persuades this novel sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. She quickly falls head over heels for the dashing, shooting ace, Frank Butler , who headlines the show. She soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction which, while good for business, is bad for romance. Butler hightails it off to join a rival show, with his bruised male ego leading the way, but is ultimately pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. The rousing, sure-fire finale hits the mark every time and is a testament to the power of female ingenuity.
Naomi Naughton is thrilled to be returning to The Shawnee Playhouse with Annie Get Your Gun, having previously choreographed Cabaret and Cats, which she also directed. As a performer, Naomi appeared on Broadway in Meet Me In St. Louis, Cats, and Swinging on a Star. She also performed across North America and Europe in A Chorus Line, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chess, Anything Goes, Brigadoon, and more. Locally, she and her husband, Tim Naughton, have directed and choreographed the musicals at Notre Dame High School, in East Stroudsburg, for over twenty years, and she has also been creatively involved with Pocono Lively Arts, Rebel Stages, and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where she also teaches.
This romantic rendition showcases many talented performers that audiences have come to know and love, including Anastasia Cameron as Jessie, Averie Cameron as Nellie, Chase Cameron as Jake, Juliet Dunham as Dolly Tate, and Stephen Hellman as Chief Sitting Bull. This memorable musical also features Angelo Revilla III as Pawnee Bill, Michael Morano as Foster Wilson, Alexis Rodriguez as Running Deer, and Caroline Cortes as Eagle Feather. This spunky, sentimental show also encompasses an energetic ensemble cast, including Cordelia D'Orsi, Matthew Amori, Emma Nastro, Laurel Cameron , Isabella Cameron, Bella Smith, Peter Valcukas, Russ Fisher, Brandy Egan, Robert Cooney Jr., Rocco Martinic, and Alex Franolich.
Produced by Charles and Ginny Kirkwood, the creative crew for Annie Get Your Gun features a veteran technical team, including Midge McClosky, executive director of the Shawnee Playhouse, Naomi Naughton as director and choreographer, Dr. Trish Gladstone as music director, Jules Gindraux as stage manager, Barbara Beltz as costumer, Cordelia D'Orsi as Dance Captain, Kenneth Card as promotional photographer, Bobby McClosky as media manager, and Samantha Cameron as press writer.
