Ariana Grande Achieves Eighth UK No. 1 Single with 'Hate That I Made You Love Me'

Ariana Grande ’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” has debuted at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart dated June 5.

The song from her forthcoming Petals LP (out July 31) is now her eighth U.K. No. 1 single, joining “Problem,” “Bang Bang,” “Thank U, Next,” “7 rings,” “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” Lady Gaga collaboration “Rain on Me” and “Positions.” She is now level with Kylie Minogue, Oasis and The Rolling Stones on the all-time list.

Grande will kick off her Eternal Sunshine tour in Oakland, Calif., on Saturday (June 6). The residency-style run will make for her first full performances since 2019’s Sweetener world tour.

After weeks of dominance, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean ’s “Rein Me In” is dislodged from the top spot and closes the week at No. 2. The song has earned 13 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 and was on a five-week streak; “Rein Me In” is tied with Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” as the longest-running No. 1 of the 2020s.

Olivia Rodrigo ’s “The Cure” moves down one spot to No. 3; “Drop Dead,” which also features on the upcoming LP You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love (out June 12), previously hit No. 1 on the Singles Chart in April.

Drake’s “Janice STFU” lifts two places week-on-week to No. 4, while Michael Jackson ’s “Billie Jean” is down two to No. 5.

Ella Langley’s Billboard Hot 100 -topping single “Choosin’ Texas” returns to its previous peak at No. 13, and Stella Lefty’s “Boston” finds a new high at No. 25. Sienna Spiro’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack contribution “Material Love” rises to No. 20, a new peak for the song.
