Our Own Language is an exhibition of drawings, paintings, and mixed media work by DDartists, a creative program of Give Chances for artists with developmental disabilities. These works are communicated through distinct, individual approaches revealing a unique internal language. Rather than seeking visual uniformity, the pieces reflect each artist's own way of noticing, remembering, arranging, and responding to the world. This exhibition celebrates the difference and intimacy of personal narrative, speaking to one another through their honesty and emotional resonance, inviting viewers to consider how art can function as both a private reflection and a shared experience.

Established in 2015, Give Chances is a New Jersey-based nonprofit organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities through education, community programs, and creative opportunities. Through DDartists, the organization helps artists continue developing their practices and share their work with a wider public.
Andrea McKenna, Gallery Director of Art House Productions, says:
“Working with Give Chances has not only been a privilege, but a rewarding and enlightening experience. The work stands as a testament to the idea that any individual, working at any level, can express themselves thoughtfully, intuitively, and authentically through the power of art. Each piece reveals the ability of creativity to foster confidence, communication, and human connection. Through this experience, it becomes clear that art is not defined by limitation or expectation, but by honesty, emotion, and the courage to share one's inner world with others.”
