This fall, prepare for shenanigans with Dan Kitrosser's buoyant, bubbling, crackling play, Marsha Blovotnik and the Marvelous Magical Chicken Soup. Next winter, longtime collaborator Yussef El Guindi burns it all down with the world premiere of Slay. In the spring, Brendan Healy invites you to join in his own funeral planning in Eulogy, or How to Plan Your Own Funeral (and have fun doing it!), a warm, celebratory comedy.

Each of these three plays is bold, surprising, and disarmingly funny. Each genuinely grapples with big, thorny questions: How do we balance caring for ourselves with caring for our community? Why can't we live an apolitical life? How do we reach for joy and meaning in the face of overwhelming adversity? All three writers are connected to the Pacific Northwest, and all three bring characters to our stage — Jewish, queer, Arab-American, disabled — who seldom get to be at the center of the story.

“It's a season that's very much in the spirit of what Artists Rep is here to do,” says Artistic Director, Luan Schooler, “take real creative risks in an intimate space with artists and audiences who are willing to go on that adventure together. The world is on fire; come laugh with us!”

Artists Rep is honored by the support of our Season Subscribers, who help make the work we do and the art we make possible. Anyone can become a subscriber and help support ART. While supporting the arts, you gain the ability to purchase tickets in advance to all three performances, enjoy first choice of seats (now available to book online!), get access to free parking in our garage, and exchange tickets with no fees (normally $10). To make supporting the arts more accessible, patrons 35 and under are now eligible for a discounted introductory subscription rate. Packages will go on sale June 1, 2026.

Single tickets go on sale in August, at $45 for preview performances and $65 for standard performances. All ticket fees are now included in the sales price. For additional pricing options, including Arts For All, discounted, and sliding scale tickets, visit artistsrep.org .

by Dan Kitrosser | directed by Luan Schooler October 27 - November 22, 2026

Marsha Blovotnik is angry. So angry! The whole world is fakakte, but for this Leftie Jewish Lesbian, it's her sister Janice who really burns her tuchus. Janice invites herself over for Shabbos dinner and then shows up three minutes early. Who does that?!?

Just before her sister arrives, a mysterious ancestor gives Marsha a pot of magical chicken soup with the power to cure the world of its woes — if only Marsha can cool down enough to share a bowl of soup with her sister.

A buoyant, crackling comedy about how to live in a dumpster fire.

by Yussef El Guindi | directed by Melory Mirashrafi February 2 - February 28, 2027

Hossam and Rachel's dog, Albert, has been acting strange––growling, lashing out, running away––but why?! Hossam is an arts journalist (recently fired), and Rachel is an optometrist (her eyes are on Gaza), they have a loving home!

In search of answers, the couple consults a pet therapist. According to her, Albert's altered behavior has more to do with the political climate. He's a conservative. As tensions sizzle at home, the three are pulled into a maelstrom with deadly consequences.

Slay, a world premiere play by Yussef El Guindi , is a quick-witted dark comedy about the absurd nature of our times. And the complicated nature of pet ownership.

by Brendan Healy April 13- May 9, 2027

Brendan Healy is like a trick birthday candle: his flame just won't blow out. Diagnosed with a terminal illness as a baby, he was supposed to die by age 5, then 8, then 16, and on and on. Somehow, he can't get to the dying part!

Now, he invites you to a memorial service like no other, sharing a lifetime of experience navigating the healthcare system, managing love and student loans, and planning his own funeral… with tips for yours, too!

A warm, heartfelt comedy about mortality, survival, and joie de vivre.
