The Authors Guild Foundation (AGF) will launch “Page to Stage”, an intimate salon series on bringing literary works and the figures behind them to the stage, today, May 27 with bestselling author Harlan Coben in conversation with playwright Mark Rosenblatt , whose play Giant has multiple Tony Award nominations, including Best Play. This inaugural event is hosted at the penthouse home of Broadway producer and author Brisa Carleton. The series is co-chaired by Carleton and Authors Guild Foundation board member Allison Smith , the acclaimed Broadway and television actress who first rose to prominence starring in the title role of Annie on Broadway and later appeared in productions including Kate & Allie, The West Wing, and numerous stage and television roles throughout her career. A longtime supporter of the arts, Smith has been an active advocate for literary and theatrical organizations.
“Harlan Coben and Mark Rosenblatt are the perfect pairing to launch this series,” said Deborah K. Wilson, Executive Director of the Authors Guild Foundation. “’Page to Stage’ offers audiences an intimate look at the artistic process behind theatrical adaptations while also supporting the Foundation’s vital work on behalf of writers.”
Carleton added, “Theater and literature have always been deeply connected, and this series is about celebrating that relationship in a meaningful and engaging way.”
The event benefits the Authors Guild Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Authors Guild, the nation’s oldest and largest professional organization for writers. Together, the Foundation and Guild advocate for authors’ rights, defend free expression, fight
censorship and book bans, support writers navigating the challenges of AI and emerging technologies, and create programs that strengthen the literary community nationwide.
