The Battery Park City Authority has announced its lineup of free summer programming for 2026, with events scheduled from May through August across its waterfront and public spaces.
The season will include FIFA World Cup watch parties, the International Parade of Sail marking America’s 250th anniversary, and returning annual events such as the Swedish Midsummer Festival and the River & Blues concert series.
Programming will take place throughout Battery Park City, including Wagner Park, Rockefeller Park, and other community spaces. The schedule includes performances, festivals, fitness events, and family activities designed for a range of audiences.
Battery Park City Authority will host FIFA World Cup watch parties beginning June 12 at Wagner Park for the USA vs. Paraguay match. The opening event will include a family-friendly tailgate and a performance by the Queer Big Apple Corps Marching Band. Additional screenings will take place from July 5–19 in partnership with The Battery Conservancy, covering matches from the Round of 16 through the Final with accompanying activities.
The Swedish Midsummer Festival will return on Saturday, June 20, marking its 27th year in the neighborhood. The event will feature traditional music, dancing around the Midsummer pole, floral crown-making, and Swedish food.
On July 4, Battery Park City will offer views of the International Naval Review, as tall ships and Navy vessels enter New York Harbor in celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
On July 25, Battery Dance will present America 250: Moving Together, a one-night-only performance at Wagner Park reflecting on American history through dance.
Battery Park City will present a season of concerts and dance performances at Wagner Park, spanning multiple genres.
On May 28, Red Baraat will perform a program blending Bhangra, funk, jazz, and rock.
On June 6, Impress will perform in a Pride celebration event featuring pop music and dance.
The River & Blues concert series will return on Thursdays in July, featuring performances by Rebirth Brass Band, The War and Treaty, Allen Stone , and Amelia Day.
On August 1, Mane Kedang Dance Company will present a program of West African dance and drumming.
On August 8, Esperanza Spalding will perform new works as part of the River to River Festival, presented by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
From August 10–16, the 45th Annual Battery Dance Festival will bring together international and local dance companies for nightly performances.
On August 28, Ailey II will perform works by established and emerging choreographers, followed by a movement workshop for audiences.
Battery Park City will also present a range of family-focused events throughout the summer.
On May 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at River Terrace, the BPC Farmers Market will open for the season with local vendors and a performance by Divinity Roxx.
On May 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wagner Park, Go Fish! Battery Park City’s Celebration of Life in the Hudson Estuary will offer catch-and-release fishing and environmental programming.
On June 19 at 11:30 a.m. in Rockefeller Park, a Juneteenth Celebration will feature horseback demonstrations, dance, and activities for families.
On June 26 at 1:00 p.m., the BPC Community Field Day will invite families to participate in games and outdoor activities.
On August 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Water Tag Extreme will take place in Rockefeller Park, combining water-based play with team competition.
