Big Freedia is releasing a three-song EP she made with the late SOPHIE in 2016. The project doesn’t have a title or official tracklist yet, but it’s set to arrive June 19. On May 22, Freedia will drop the single “Blaze That Ass,” which has made the rounds online for years via leaks and live rips of SOPHIE’s DJ sets.
“Recording with SOPHIE is something I hold even closer to my heart now, especially after her passing,” Freedia said in a press release. “She was an artist who showed the world that living boldly is your greatest power. With this EP, I want to show the world how loved she was and still is!”
Big Freedia’s latest full-length, the gospel album Pressing Onward , came out in 2025. Last year also marked the 10th anniversary of SOPHIE’s singles collection Product , which got a new deluxe edition and saw the official release of “ Sunscreen ,” a fan-favorite collaboration with Liz.
