After kicking off their 20th anniversary year at Coachella back in April, BIGBANG have finally revealed their world tour dates. The milestone tour has been teased for months, with G-Dragon getting fans excited during his Übermensch tour run, but the official announcement didn’t arrive until the end of BIGBANG’s weekend two Coachella set, where G-Dragon told fans: “This is just the beginning. We got something special to announce for the first time right here at Coachella. BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary world tour will begin this August. It’s going to be crazy. Do not miss out.”
Until today, details have remained scarce beyond talks of the opening shows this August at Goyang Stadium in South Korea. Now we know that BIGBANG’s first tour since 2017 will bring members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung together for a 31-show stadium tour across Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia — including two U.S. shows in September. It’s poised to be a long-awaited opportunity for fans around the world to see BIGBANG live.
A YG Entertainment representative shares with Rolling Stone , “As BIGBANG is one of the leading artists who broadened the reach of K-Pop on a global scale by setting new milestones in the popular music industry, BIGBANG is channeling every effort to deliver the best-ever scale and level of perfection for the upcoming shows.” They add, “The stages are set to be monumental, spanning the past, present, and future of K-Pop.”
The group’s Coachella set drew from every era of BIGBANG’s career, featuring tracks like “ A Fool of Tears ” (2006), to signature hits and more recent tracks like “Home Sweet Home” (2024), off of G-Dragon’s latest album, featuring Taeyang and Daseung. Taeyang shared in conversation with Rolling Stone that putting the set list together was the hardest part of preparing, suggesting that the setlist for the upcoming tour will be just as carefully and thoughtfully curated.
