Bloc Party Ready New Album Anatomy of a Brief Romance

Bloc Party have a new album on the way. The London band enlisted Trevor Horn for Anatomy of a Brief Romance , their follow-up to the 2022 LP Alpha Games . Listen to the single “Coming on Strong” below.

Kele Okereke says he wrote the record in the wake of a more than decade-long relationship. “Every lyric you’re hearing on this record was something that actually happened to me,” he explained in press materials. “I had to tell the story, from start to finish.”

Anatomy of a Brief Romance will be the maiden release of Contagious Ltd., a new Virgin Music Group imprint. In the four years since Alpha Games , Okereke and the band have played a series of big shows as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations behind Silent Alarm .
