Channel Tres Drops New Track "Pop Pop"

A couple of months ago, Compton club funkateer Channel Tres flipped the Crystal Waters classic "100% Pure Love" on his single " Medicine ." Today, he's got another new track. As far as I know, this one doesn't interpolate any early-'90s bangers, though it does have some of that feeling. It's a heady house track with a ridiculous level of strut in the bass, and Tres sounds great over that groove.

Channel Tres co-wrote and co-produced "Pop Pop" with his regular collaborator Nick Sylvester, who is one of my oldest friends. It doesn't really have anything to do with this Channel Tres single, but I feel compelled to note that Nick's wife Mina Kimes just won the Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars final. She beat final boss Ike Barinholtz and everything. I watched the finals in my Salt Lake City hotel room over the weekend, and I felt like I could've run through a wall. Do you know how it feels to see one of your homies win on a game show and score a million dollars for charity? I know it now. It feels really fucking good. Anyway, check out "Pop Pop" below.
