Cher ‘s son Elijah Blue Allman has claimed that his mother financially cut him off years ago, according to a new filing tied to Allman’s divorce proceedings from his estranged wife Marieangela King.

According to court documents filed on May 5 in the Superior Court of Los Angeles and obtained by People , Allman requested his spousal support payments be reduced and said his mother was the reason behind the request. Allman, Cher’s only son with late Allman Brothers singer Gregg Allman , alleged that she no longer sends him a “recurring gift income” and only receives “$10,000 per month from his father’s trust.”

Allman, 49, said that pop star, 79, stopped sending him financial support in August 2021. His income without the funds totals $6,790 after taxes, per the filing, which also states he is mandated to pay King $6,500 per month following their separation. Allman claimed King has “made no efforts to become self-supporting” and his lawyers have made a bid to lower the amount to $1,651 per month. A hearing is set for July 17, per the outlet.

Lawyers for Cher and Allman did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone ‘s request for comment.

Last month, a judge denied Cher’s emergency bid to have a court-appointed conservator placed in charge of her son’s finances while he remained locked in a New Hampshire psychiatric facility facing criminal charges. Her request was made ahead of his next quarterly payout from his late father’s trust this month.
