Friends and fellow musicians will honor the incredible life and talent of Jill Sobule during what they have dubbed Jillith Fair, at Club Passim in Cambridge on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Jillith Fair will include stories and performances by Nini Camps , Antje Duvekot, SONiA disappear fear, Jose Ayerve (Spouse), and The Grownup Noise.

Sobule was an award-winning singer-songwriter known for her iconic 90s hits “I Kissed A Girl,” the first openly gay-themed song ever to crack the Billboard Top 20, and the alt-rock anthem “Supermodel,” featured in the film Clueless. She was a regular performer at Passim and was set to perform her acclaimed autobiographical musical in June of last year, before her sudden death in May.

“Jill's artistry and courage left a lasting impression on everyone at Passim,” said Michael Busack, Executive Director at Passim. “Her songs carried truth and humor in equal measure, and her presence here will always be remembered with love. We are honored to celebrate her enduring legacy. ”

A celebrated songwriter, Nini won Billboard's Songwriter Award and was named Spin's Top 5 Singer/Songwriter for her album “So Long.” Signing with Cherry Lane Music Publishing in 2005 allowed her to transition from touring to songwriting for other artists, TV, and film. With over 50 placements, including Grey's Anatomy, Station 19, All American, Brothers and Sisters, Castle, Pretty Little Liars, and more, Nini continues to create music for various media. She is currently signed to Concord Music Publishing.

Antje has extensive touring experience, criss-crossing the US and Europe many times. She is a compelling live performer and has been invited to play some of the top festivals, including The Newport Folk Festival, as well as the Mountain Stage, Philadelphia, and Kerrville Festivals. Internationally, she's headlined the Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland and the Tonder Festival in Denmark. She's the winner of some of the top songwriting awards, including the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, the prestigious Kerrville (TX) “Best New Folk Award,” and, in one of the nation's top music markets, the Boston Music Award for “Outstanding Folk Act”, three of the top prizes in the singer-songwriter world.

SONiA Disappear Fear is a world-class composer and artist whose talent of writing in a variety of genres and languages has garnered her a vast following worldwide. SONiA's Double CD LiVE at MAXiMAL was in the first round running for Grammy Best Folk Album. Her 2020 compilation album, Love out Loud, encourages people to embrace their identity while highlighting LGBTQ equality.

Hailing from New England, SPOUSE formed in 1995. The band, led by José Ayerve and J.J. O'Connell is a collaborative of several musicians that come together to create, record, and perform frenetic, melodic, anthemic indie rock and pop, drawing from a multitude of influences. To date, their catalog features seven full-length albums, several EPs, singles, compilation tracks, and live recordings.

The band formed in 2005 as a somewhat rare bird on the Boston rock scene. After a couple of years and several sold-out local shows, the band of Paul Hansen , Adam Sankowski, Kyle Crane, and Katie Franich had arrived. The band quickly hit the road to LA and back several times, touring DIY in a full-size veggie-oil-powered van. After 20 years and much lived experience, the original line-up is back together for a 6th album.

Club Passim will host Jillith Fair - Loving Jill Sobule Saturday, June 6, 2026, doors at 7:00 p.m./show at 8:00 p.m.
