The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra will present its new season with over forty concerts and the welcome return of vocalistsTatiana LadyMay Mayfield, Marion Powers, and Hannah Rodriguez.

The season will include many notable moments, including internationally celebrated recording artist Veronica Swift at the Arvada Center Amphitheatre on July 18. The concert launches the 2026/27 big band concert series at the Arvada Center that will also include four concerts at the venue’s Main Stage Theatre. On September 18, the Friday Night Jazz Series kicks off with a “Sass, Swing, and Standards” concert at the Schoolhouse in Parker.

The concert will be preceded by a recording session for CJRO’s fifth album, the first with the CJRO small group and Marion Powers. Musicians featured on the album include Drew Zaremba, Jared Cathey, Eric Gunnison, Gonzalo Teppa, and Alejandro Castaño. Vocalist Matt Brooker performs “Blue Eyes, Bing and Bublé” with the CJRO small group in October for an evening of hit standards featuring some of the greatest crooners of all time. The CJRO will honor the centennial of the iconic horn player Miles Davis with a series of concerts featuring trumpeter Shane Endsley in November. In December, the CJRO small group presents a series of Motown Christmas concerts at several locations around the metro. In February, CJRO Artistic Director Drew Zaremba revisits the recent collaboration with Wonderbound Artistic Director Garrett Ammon for a 1920s-inspired program centered on new and reimagined scores written by Zaremba. A recording of this critically acclaimed show will be available later this year.

In April, trailblazing violinist Enion Pelta-Tiller joins the small group for some Western swing, bluegrass, and a whole lot of jazz! April 8 brings the CJRO Big Band to the Newman Center, playing with two-time Grammy Award winner Kurt Elling during the third annual Denver Jazz Fest. In May, the CJRO Latin Jazz Ensemble will perform during a day-long celebration of Latin music and culture with Su Teatro. The free festival is made possible by a grant from the Collaborative of the SCFD. The rest of the season includes a wide variety of big and small band concerts that are part of the successful Sunday Sessions at Dazzle, plus ongoing Jazz series at Lakewood Cultural Center, Muse Performance Space in Lafayette, and others. “One of the many reasons I’m excited about this season is that we’re taking, as always, some bold swings in new directions,” said CJRO Artistic Director Drew Zaremba. “I’m really looking forward to our first small group album with Marion Powers, releasing our live album of my first ballet at Wonderbound, and our bluegrass meets jazz series in the spring. Also, our Motown Christmas is something I’m incredibly excited about! See you there!”

The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra is a powerhouse ensemble known for pushing the boundaries of traditional big and small-band jazz. The CJRO brings a bold new sound to the stage, blending classic, soul, and Latin jazz along with their signature energy, all under the visionary leadership of Artistic Director Drew Zaremba and Founding Executive Director Art Bouton.
