An invitation-only industry reading of Michael Ronca 's Live the Fourth will be held in Manhattan on Friday, June 12th. Aaron Bryce is directing.
Live the Fourth follows a group of Catholic school seniors who find their Kairos retreat taking a disastrous turn when an unwilling student is reconnected with a no-contact parent in the name of forgiveness, forcing the group to face the true nature of their religious education and the motivations behind their faith.
The reading will feature Lachlan Watson (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Chucky) as Lee, a skeptical student who receives a letter from their estranged father, and Robert Capron (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) as Matthew, a student leader intent on deepening his classmates' faith. Joining them are Mary Kate Abner (Office Party) as Cameron and Dan Berry (The Outsiders) as Sam, Lee and Matthew's classmates. Stephanie Torns (Waitress, Wicked) will play Mrs. Bradley, a new member of the school administration who finds herself in over her head.
Yining Shang will serve as stage manager and Danika Jackson will read stage directions.
