Dave Matthews Band Kicks Off 2026 Tour with Rare Fan Favorites
Dave Matthews Band delighted fans by performing rarities such as "Cha Cha," "Broken Things," and "I Did It" during their first two shows of the 2026 tour in Texas.

Dave Matthews Band kicked off their 2026 US tour with a duo of shows in Texas that included a few surprises in their sets.
For the May 8th set in The Woodlands, Texas at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, DMB started their 20-song set with “So Right” and “Warehouse” before doing an extended intro to “American Baby.” They busted out “Only Takes a Moment,” also known as “Cha Cha,” an unreleased song that the band hasn’t played since 2023, according to DMB set trackers. The band also performed “Broken Things,” which is even rarer on setlists. The band played the song a couple dozen times between 2012 and 2013, shelving it until two shows in 2021. “Broken Things” fell in the middle portion of the set. For the encore, Dave Matthews played a solo rendition of “Take All Day” before the band came back out for a cover of “All Along the Watchtower.”

Dave Matthews Band rolled into Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion on May 9th, launching their 22-song set with “Granny” and “I Did It,” another rarity, which the band only played once in the previous 10 years. They also offered a version of “Kit Kat Jam” from 2002’s Busted Stuff , another song that had been missing from their set for about a decade except for one performance last year. The set ended with a solo version of “Rye Whiskey” and the band performing “The Stone.”

Dave Matthews Band are joining with Live Nation and REVERB for to minimize the environmental impact of their tour and make the music industry more sustainable. The band also committed to planting 1 million trees in 2026.
In March, Dave Matthews performed three politically charged songs on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and discussed the meaning of their lyrics. That performance followed Matthews speaking out against the killing of Renée Nicole Good by federal agents in January in Minnesota — saying he doesn’t want “my taxes to pay for ICE, to masked thugs to roam our streets and terrorize our communities and rip families apart.”
Through their BAMA Works charity, DMB donated to the ACLU of Minnesota in the wake of the slaying of Good and Alex Pretti, who was also killed by federal agents in Minnesota.
