David Tennant and Nicola Coughlan Join "Only Murders in the Building" Season 6

David Tennant and Nicola Coughlan lead a host of new cast additions for the sixth season of comedy hit Only Murders In The Building .

The series, which airs on Disney+ in the UK, stars Selena Gomez , Steve Martin, and Martin Short as neighbours who investigate murders happening in their apartment building for a podcast they host together. The show has been a massive success since its debut in 2021, and has seen numerous big names in guest roles, including Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd , and Tina Fey .

The sixth season, currently in production, has already cast Morgan Freeman and Geri Halliwell among its guest stars, and now Variety has revealed more are being added to the list.

Tennant, best known for his roles in Doctor Who , Good Omens , and Broadchurch , will be joining the cast alongside Nicola Coughlan, who shot to stardom with the comedy series Derry Girls and romantic drama Bridgerton .

Also included in the latest announcement is fellow Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker, Oscar winner Jim Broadbent ( Moulin Rouge ), and actor/director Richard Ayoade . Details on who the actors will be playing are still under wraps, but the season is currently in production in the UK according to the outlet.

During its run, Only Murders In The Building has received 49 Emmy nominations, winning 17, as well as 20 Golden Globe nominations.

Recently, Coughlan opened up about people body-shaming her online , describing it as “so fucking boring”. “It’s really hard when you work on something for months and months of your life, you don’t see your family, you really dedicate yourself and then it comes down to what you look like” she told Elle .

Elsewhere, series star Martin Short made a statement announcing the death of his daughter, Katherine Hartley Short, aged 42.
