Following 2022’s Asphalt Meadows , the writing and recording process for I Built You a Tower found the beloved indie act attempting to capture the magic of the band’s beginning. “The whole experience of this record got us back to the earliest versions of this band,” said member Nick Harmer. “If the musicians in the room like what we’re working on, that’s enough. We reconnected with the confidence that comes with that.”

Prior to the release of the full record, Death Cab for Cutie dropped the singles “Riptides” and “Punching the Flowers.” Come July, the band will also launch their 2026 tour . Check out all of Death Cab’s upcoming dates and pick up tickets here .
