Death Cab for Cutie to Release 11th Album "I Built You a Tower" on June 5th
Death Cab for Cutie, the Seattle-based band, is set to release their 11th album, "I Built You a Tower," this Friday, June 5th.

Death Cab for Cutie stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform “Riptides,” the lead single off their imminent new album I Built You a Tower .
With a moody blue lighting palette — perhaps as a nod to the ocean and the moonlight, both of which evoke riptides — the Seattle band gave an earnest and enjoyable rendition of “Riptides.” They began with a taut, restrained groove from drummer Jason McGerr and frontman Ben Gibbard, eventually working in the full band and letting the song rise in scope and drama. Towards the end, Gibbard’s claims of being “too tired” sounded less like exhaustion and more like defiance. Watch their performance below.
