Despite Summer just starting, Drake ‘s “Freeze the World” mantra appears to be holding strong. The chest-pumping Iceman , the first in a triptych of releases from Drake last month, is again on top of the album charts, marking the album’s fourth consecutive week at No. 1, with 133,000 equivalent album units in the latest tracking week.
Iceman also now joins Kendrick Lamar’s GNX as the only rap album in Billboard’s history to have every one of its songs Chart on the Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks.
This continues Drake’s Herculean comeback, which started when he dropped his three-album barrage in May. Iceman , Habibti and Maid of Honour debuted in the top three spots on the Billboard 200 in their opening week, making Drake the first artist to occupy the chart’s entire top three simultaneously. Iceman also marked Drake’s 15th chart-topping album, passing Jay-Z for the most by any rap artist.
