Fans praise '007: First Light' nightclub level featuring Chase & Status

007: First Light is finally out and fans are loving an early mission set in a nightclub where Chase & Status are performing.

Created by Hitman developers IO Interactive, 007: First Light tells an original origin story of the world’s most famous secret agent. After impressing MI6 as an SAS operative, Patrick Gibson’s James Bond gets invited to take part in the rebooted 00-training program, alongside several other candidates.

In the early ‘A Night Out’ level, the recruits are tasked with intercepting an information exchange that’s taking place while Chase & Status are performing in a packed nightclub. Featuring dancing NPCs, strobe lighting, a brilliant soundtrack and a number of different paths to success, footage from the level has been praised by fans online.

“Nightclub missions are where [game] engines stop pretending. Fog, bloom, reflections, moving lights… everything gets stress-tested at once. This one looks expensive in the best way,” wrote one X user. “Nightclub mission + 007 = instant cinematic chaos… this already feels like a movie in motion,” added another. “This is the level of detail I expect from Grand Theft Auto 6 ,” said a third.

The ‘A Night Out’ level also sees Bond dealing with a jealous boyfriend if you pick the wrong NPC to speak to about your mission.

“The nightclub infiltration mission in 007: First Light looks absolutely stunning. The neon-soaked atmosphere, dynamic crowd, and that classic Bond tension while staying stealthy is chef’s kiss. This is exactly the stylish, immersive gameplay we’ve been hoping for from a modern James Bond game,” wrote one X user.

“It’s a modern pop-culture touchstone that keeps Bond in step with the world around him,” IO Interactive said about Chase & Status’ appearance in the game. “Their inclusion adds a distinct edge to 007: First Light , not just as a cameo, but bringing immersive energy that amplifies Bond’s journey.”

As well as Chase & Status, 007: First Light features appearances from superstar DJ Dimitri Vegas while Lenny Kravitz plays antagonist Bawma, The Pirate King . However a cameo from TikTok star Khaby Lame has baffled some fans .

In other news, it’s been reported that the new Call Of Duty  game will launch on the  Nintendo Switch 2 .
