Gentle Love Reworks Ocarina of Time Soundtrack into Soothing Jazz Album

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time soundtrack has been given a soothing jazz remix for a new anniversary album.

Scarlet Moon’s long-running ‘Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies’ series is celebrating 40 years of The Legend Of Zelda with a new remix album.

‘Prescription For Sleep: Ocarina Of Time’ is a jazz lullaby tribute album to Koji Kondo’s iconic score, designed for chilling, relaxing, sleeping or studying. The record is performed by Gentle Love, a group composed of Metal Gear Solid series composer Norihiko Hibino on saxophone and Streets Of Rage performer AYAKI on piano.

The album features reworked takes of 11 Ocarina Of Time classics alongside a brand new song inspired by Link’s adventures in the land of Hyrule. “ Ocarina Of Time is one of those games whose music transcends the game itself,” explains Scarlet Moon’s Jayson Napolitano. “I’ve been wanting to do a dedicated Zelda album since we launched the series, and Ocarina Of Time felt like the obvious choice — it’s the game that introduced so many people to orchestral game music, and Koji Kondo’s melodies are so beautifully suited to what Gentle Love does. Hearing ‘Zelda’s Lullaby’ and ‘Temple Of Time’ rendered in this style felt like a dream come true.”

‘Ocarina Of Time’ is the 16th album in the ‘Prescription For Sleep’ series, with Scarlet Moon also releasing reworked takes on the Stardew Valley , Celeste and Undertale music.

Earlier this year, music from across The Legend Of Zelda series was performed by The Sixth Station Trio for a classical covers album .

A live-action The Legend Of Zelda movie is currently being filmed in New Zealand ahead of a May 2027 release date. In November, Nintendo shared an official first look at Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. The movie will be scored by John Paesano , the composer behind Marvel’s Spider-Man and Netflix ’s Daredevil , alongside Zelda legend Koji Kondo.

In other news Embracer, who owns the rights to TimeSplitters , Saints Row and many other cult classics, has said it’s “actively exploring” new opportunities for the beloved franchises.
