Hoobastank Releases First New Song in Eight Years, "How Do You Sleep?"
Hoobastank returns with "How Do You Sleep?", their first new song in eight years. The band is also set to support Staind on tour later this year.

Hoobastank are back with “How Do You Sleep?,” their first new song in eight years, and it finds the California band going all the way back to its ’90s punk roots.
While Hoobastank are best known for their ubiquitous ballad “The Reason” and their mainstream-rock hit “Crawling the Dark,” the band started out as a ska-punk act when they formed in Agoura Hills more than 30 years ago.

“How Do You Sleep?,” which was produced by Howard Benson, sounds more in line with The Offspring and Sum 41 than with Hoobastank’s best-known songs, as frontman Doug Robb’s delivery delves almost into hardcore territory. In addition to releasing the single today, Hoobastank also performed the song at Vans Warped Tour in Washington, D.C. over the weekend.

“I feel good about releasing new music,” stated Robb. “It’s kind of like a creative ‘pressure valve’ has been opened. Howard Benson’s enthusiasm was a big part of opening it for us. He gave us direction but also a lot more freedom than he may have previously.”
