Hosted at the Rapid Fire Exchange in Old Strathcona, Improvaganza has become one of Western Canada's longest-running improv festivals, showcasing a mix of award-winning performers, innovative formats, and emerging comedy trends.
This year's lineup features a diverse range of productions, including the crowd-favourite Maestro, the fantasy-inspired Improvised Dungeons & Dragons, acclaimed duo 2-Man No-Show, and CAMP, a nostalgic improvised comedy experience.
One of the festival's most anticipated performances is 100 Decibels. Every performance is created entirely from audience suggestions, resulting in a unique production that has earned praise from audiences and improv communities across North America.
“Improvaganza is our chance to bring some of the most exciting voices in improvisation to Edmonton,” said Matt Schuurman, Executive Director of Rapid Fire Theatre. “Whether you're a longtime improv fan or experiencing it for the first time, the festival offers something you simply can't see anywhere else.”
In addition to performances, festival attendees can participate in workshops led by visiting artists, providing opportunities for performers of all experience levels to learn new skills and connect with the broader improv community.
Founded in 1981, Rapid Fire Theatre is one of Canada's leading improv companies, producing year-round performances, educational programming, festivals, and community initiatives. The company recently opened the Rapid Fire Exchange, a dedicated performance and training venue in Edmonton's Old Strathcona district.
