First premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010, Bunny quickly established itself as one of the most urgent and compelling contemporary British plays, earning a Fringe First Award and widespread critical acclaim for its fearless exploration of youth, identity, race, class, and belonging in modern Britain.
Set over the course of one explosive summer evening, Bunny follows eighteen-year-old Katie as a seemingly ordinary night spirals into chaos, forcing her to confront difficult truths about loyalty, violence, and her future. Through sharp humour, emotional honesty, and razor-edged storytelling, the play captures the turbulence of growing up in a divided society with extraordinary immediacy.
Rocketlines Theatre's new production reimagines Thorne's celebrated monologue for contemporary audiences, bringing renewed focus to the themes of social tension, female agency, and personal transformation that continue to resonate powerfully today.
Speaking about the production, Rocketlines Theatre said:
“Bunny is raw, funny, unsettling, and deeply human. Jack Thorne 's writing gives voice to young people too often ignored, and we are thrilled to bring this extraordinary play to London audiences in an intimate setting where every moment lands with full impact.”
Jack Thorne is internationally recognised for his groundbreaking work across theatre, television, and film, including Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, His Dark Materials, and Adolescence. His stage work is celebrated for its emotional intelligence and social insight.
This one-night-only event at The Club for Acts and Actors promises an electrifying evening of contemporary theatre from an exciting emerging company.
