Number_i has announced a label deal with American music powerhouse Atlantic Records.

A flagship imprint of Warner Music Group, Atlantic boasts a roster spanning legends such as Aretha Franklin and Led Zeppelin to today’s global superstars including Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Rosé. The Japanese boy band now joins that historic lineup.

“We’re excited to announce that we’ve signed with Atlantic Records in the U.S.,” said the group in a statement. “We’re really looking forward to expanding our sound and reach with the team. We’ll continue working hard to bring our music to as many people as possible, and we truly appreciate your continued support.”

The major-label signing positions the group for global releases and a full-scale international music rollout. The members visited Atlantic’s Los Angeles headquarters this spring and have already begun recording new material in the U.S.

The deal follows their February announcement of a representation agreement with WME , the world’s largest talent agency. Earlier this month, Number_i’s “3XL” returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot Hot 100 , on the list released May 6, following its chart-topping February debut. As Number_i steps into this new chapter, all eyes are on what music they’ll bring next.
