The new single marks the latest to be shared from the trio’s forthcoming album ‘ Sunshine ’, following on from the lead single ‘ Carry On ’, which was released in March. The new album is set to be released on August 14.

With ‘The Wave’, the band – formed of J Lloyd, Tom McFarland and Lydia Kitto – capture a relaxed, euphoric feeling throughout, and harness inspiration from the Brazilian music scene of the ‘60s and ‘70s.

“ I thought about it yesterday/ Couldn’t bear to live without your love/And I never wanna hear you say/ That you’re givin’ up ,” they sing in the warmth and effortlessly-cool opening verse, as the instrumentals build and layer-up towards the chorus.

“ Oh, don’t you cry, we’ve got it all/ Don’t you worry/ We can find our way through the dark/ We’ve got it all, don’t you worry/ We can take it back to the start ,” they sing, providing a dose of optimism in the face of tough times.

‘Sunshine’ is formed of 11-tracks, and serves as the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Volcano’ . Pre-order/pre-save here .

The trio will showcase the album on a huge global arena tour, which kicks off in September. The first leg is set to take place across North America, and in October the band will head to Europe.

They will then return to the UK and Ireland, with shows including a stop at The O2 in London on November 25 –and a new date at the arena on November 24 – before wrapping things up in Australia at the start of 2027.

Jungle have released two standalone singles since ‘Volcano’: 2024’s ‘Let’s Go Back’ and last year’s ‘Keep Me Satisfied’ .

In a three-star review , NME described ‘Volcano’ as a “fiery sonic explosion” that “lacks human touch”. It added: “The duo’s fourth album sees them nail down their sound and vibes, but often struggles to do the soul it looks to evoke justice.”
