KATSEYE Shares Emotional Encounters With Ariana Grande and Tyler, The Creator

Turns out stars fangirl over each other, too. In the newest episode of Instagram’s original series Close Friends Only , KATSEYE opens up on tour must-haves, creative inspirations and upcoming EP WILD with their friend YouTuber Larray.

At the top of the video, the girl-group and Larray arrive at a music studio equipped with every instrument and piece of equipment one could possibly need. They quickly get settled in on the couch where they pour some tea before spilling the tea (literally and figuratively).

One of the first stories KATSEYE shares is about the time they met pop icon Ariana Grande at the 2025 MTV VMAs.

“I actually started crying. And I don’t cry,” Sophia Laforteza shared. Laforteza, a massive Grande fan, revealed that she even began shaking during the interaction, and that her bandmates had to help calm her down. She also shared that Grande was incredibly kind. “You know that whole thing where you’re like, ‘Don’t meet your idols’? But then I did meet my idol and she just made me feel so seen.”

Grande isn’t the only star that KATSEYE had the chance to meet at a major award show. The girl group also met Tyler, The Creator at this year’s Grammys — and got a compliment from him.

“Dude, Tyler, The Creator told us that we were good,” said Lara Raj. “We were walking in the backstage, he came out of his dressing room. He was like, ‘You guys did so good.'”

“He went out of his way,” Laforteza added.

In an accompanying Instagram Reel for the episode, KATSEYE also talked about a few other stars — ones who they hope to collaborate with one day.

“I want to collab recently with Bad Bunny because he’s just fire,” said Daniela Avanzini, who also named someone she knows is a fan of the band. “Tyler, The Creator, too. I really love him. He’s, like, one of my fav artists.”

Raj named Pharrell and Thundercat as her dream collaborations, while Laforteza added Grande, of course, as well as Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga.

“Benny Blanco,” interjected Megan Skiendiel as a final option.
