Kelela Drops New Single "Point Break" Ahead of Third Album and Fall Tour

Kelela ‘s third album, New Avatar , is out next month via Warp, and she’s given us another early taste with “point blank.” “I first outline the baseline dynamic, which is that we’re expected to endure men’s inability to self-regulate,” she says. “The fantasy many of us are invested in is one where we do such a good job of holding space that it starts to rub off on our partner over time, eventually inducing some sort of revelation and building their emotional maturity. Yet the more we pour into men, the more entitled they become.”

Kelela has also announced a fall tour, with shows in North America in September and October, followed by Europe in October and November. The North American leg begins on September 8 in Seattle and wraps up at Miami’s III Points Festival, and you can see all dates below.

The NYC shows are at Brooklyn Paramount on October 9 and 10 . Tickets go on sale Friday, June 5 at 10 AM local, with various presales starting today (6/1) at 2 PM local.
