Kim Mathers Pleads No Contest to Impaired Driving in Michigan Hit & Run

Emininem ‘s former wife Kim Mathers took a plea in a criminal case in Macomb County, Michigan, on Monday (May 11).

Mathers pleaded no contest after being charged on two counts after a car accident she was involved in on Feb. 16. Prosecutors allege that while driving a white Range Rover, Mathers hit a parked silver Dodge Ram, a collision that pushed the truck more than 50 feet. Authorities say that Mathers failed to report the crash afterward.

Mathers was arraigned in district court on Monday on charges of Operating – Impaired and Failure to Stop After Collision — both misdemeanors. By pleading no contest, Mathers accepts the conviction without an admission of guilt.

Mathers’ sentencing is set for June 17. She faces up to 93 days in jail for the impaired operating count and up to 90 days for the failure to stop charge.

“Driving under the influence is not a lapse in judgment — it is a deliberate decision that puts every person on the road at risk,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido in a statement. “Choosing to drive impaired is choosing to endanger others, and we will continue to hold those who make that choice fully accountable.”

Mathers was married to Detroit rapper Eminem (real name: Marshall Mathers), her high school sweetheart, from 1999 to 2001 and again briefly in 2006. Kim Mathers and Eminem share daughter Hailie Jade Scott, who is now 30 years old. Eminem also adopted his and Mathers’ niece, Alaina Marie Scott, who was raised alongside Hailie Jade.
