“5/29 My retirement album Thank you for everything,” Latto wrote to her fans on X.

“Latto don’t piss me the f–k off today fr,” one frustrated fan replied. Another responde d : “Be so for real you’re going to be right back to making music within 2 years.”

Latto is currently pregnant and could be looking to focus on motherhood rather than rap going forward. Big Mama will arrive on May 29 with 17 tracks in total. The LP includes previously released singles “Somebody,” “Business & Personal” and “GOMF” featuring GloRilla.

The 28-year-old’s last album arrived in 2024 with Sugar Honey Iced Te a, which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 . The project featured Megan Thee Stallion, Hunxho, Coco Jones, Ciara, Mariah the Scientist and Teezo Touchdown.

“Brokey,” “Sunday Service” and “Big Mama” cracked the Billboard Hot 100, while Latto recruited Cardi B for the “Put It on Da Floor” remix and Playboi Carti for the remix to “Blick Sum.”

Many rappers in the past have teased retirement and gone back on their word, getting back in the studio for years to come.
