The man who was arrested last year in Atlanta on charges of stealing hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music has pleaded guilty.

As Fox 5 Atlanta reported on Tuesday, Kelvin Evans pleaded guilty on counts of entering an automobile and criminal trespass and now faces two years in prison, four years less than if he hadn’t taken a plea deal and was convicted. He’ll spend three years after the prison sentence on probation.

Last year, amid Beyoncé ‘s Cowboy Carter tour dates in Atlanta, Evans had allegedly broken into the trunk of the rental car of Beyoncé choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue, stealing two suitcases. According to a police report from last year, the suitcases contained “water marked music, some un-released music, footage plans for the show and past and future set lists.”

Evans was taken into police custody last September with a bond set for $20,000. A representative for Beyoncé didn’t immediately respond to request for comment.

Aside from the hard drives, Evans had also stolen two MacBook laptops, which authorities had managed to track down. The suitcases themselves, though, were “never seen again,” per Fox 5.

Queen Bey wrapped the Cowboy Carter tour in Las Vegas three months after the theft. Cowboy Carter itself won Beyoncé her first ever album of the year Grammy back in 2025, and her fans have been anxiously awaiting her next record ever since. It’s unclear what music exactly was on those hard drives, and whether their contents were related to her next record or previous works.
