Yesterday, it was announced that Johannes Radebe , the beloved star of the brand-new production of KINKY BOOTS The Musical will be one of the new presenters on the BBC hit show Strictly Come Dancing this year, alongside Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe. His Kinky Boots co-star and good friend, X-Factor winner Matt Cardle, honored Radebe with a speech during the curtain call last night. Watch the video!

KINKY BOOTS stars Johannes Radebe as Lola and Matt Cardle as Charlie Price with Tosh Wanagho-Maud as Alternate Lola, Courtney Bowman as Lauren, Billie-Kay as Nicola, Billy Roberts as Don, Rachel Izen as Pat, Jessica Daley as Trish, Jonathan Dryden Taylor as Mr Price, Scott Paige as George and Liam Doyle as Harry. The cast is completed by Andy Barke , Kathryn Barnes , Cerys Burton , Kaya Farrugia , Nay-Nay, Keith Alexander , Nathan Daly , Kofi Dennis , Ru Fisher , Darnell Mathew-James, Liam McEvoy , Ashley-Jordon Packer , Cole Dunn , Annell Odartey , Jordan Isaac , Tori McDougall and Cleve September . The young company includes Sean Garcia Madiba , Noah Ronkainen Phillips and Rio-Blake Power as Young Lola and Archie John Allen , Joshua Beswick , Louis Cohen and Callum George as Young Charlie.

KINKY BOOTS The Musical is a Broadway and West End phenomenon based on a true story and movie of the same name released in 2005.

When Charlie Price inherits his family’s failing shoe factory, saving the company – and his love life – feels like an impossibly tall order. Until, that is, he meets Lola, the sparkling, larger-than-life drag queen with the unlikeliest of answers. Can they work together to reboot the business and save the day? Firstly, I guess I should start off by introducing myself. My name is Tosh Wanogho-Maud, and I’m playing Lola on a Monday and perhaps a few other times that circumstances might allow in the brand-new production of the Olivier, Tony and Grammy Award-winning Kinky BootsThe Musical.

Inspired by a true story and based on the Miramax motion picture written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth, Kinky Boots features a warm and witty book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein and a richly diverse musical score from Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper, in her stunning theatrical debut. The production is directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell , with music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Stephen Oremus. Starring Strictly Come Dancing's Johannes Radebe as Lola and X-Factor star Matt Cardle as Charlie, this revival is directed by Leicester Curve's artistic director Nicolai Foster, What did the critics think?

Last seen in the West End in 2019, Cyndi Lauper and Matt Fierstein's uplifting musical Kinky Boots finally struts its way back to London after a national tour. Originating at the Curve Leicester and directed by its artistic director Nikolai Foster, it brings starry sparkle to the stage with the casting of Strictly's Johannes Radebe, but fails to capture the energy and vigour of its previous iteration.
