Olivia Rodrigo opened up further about her just-announced charitable Daisy Chain Fields music festival, telling Good Morning America on Tuesday that all of the acts on the bill are playing for free.
Rodrigo first announced Daisy Chain Fields on Monday, revealing a stacked all-women lineup that includes herself, Chappell Roan, Bikini Kill, Sarah McLachlan , Stevie Nicks and several others. 100 percent of the net proceeds are going to charity.
Speaking with Diane Sawyer, Rodrigo called the women lending themselves for the festival “a real testament to their hearts as well as their talent.”

The listed charities Daisy Chain Fields is partnering with include Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center and Planned Parenthood.
The festival has quickly drawn comparisons to the famed McLachlan co-founded Lilith Fair traveling music festival of the ’90s, and Rodrigo told Sawyer that those shows were “a huge inspiration in me starting this festival.”
“And actually the first person that I called when I decided that I wanted to do this festival was Sarah McLachlan,” Rodrigo said. “She’s a total trailblazer, and an incredible artist and a friend.”
Rodrigo said she hopes Daisy Chain Fields can challenge the societal notion that women have to act against one another to get ahead.
“I think there’s this rhetoric that girls are supposed to be competing against each other for the top spot, or that there’s only this many resources for everyone,” Rodrigo said. “I think it’s an experience like Lilith Fair and hopefully Daisy Chain that will show us that we’re all way stronger when we come together and support one another.”
