Paul Gross and Tom McCamus will star as Vladimir and Estragon, joined by Jonathan Goad as Pozzo and David W. Keeley as Lucky. The production features a minimalist design centered around a solitary tree emerging from the Tanya Moiseiwitsch stage.

The play follows two travelers waiting beside a barren tree for the arrival of the mysterious Godot. Through their conversations and encounters, Beckett's work explores companionship, uncertainty, and the search for meaning.

Atkinson said the play's enduring impact comes from the questions it continues to raise. “Humans have tried throughout history to find out what it is we are doing here,” she said. “We have created systems to keep us organized, jobs to keep us working and religions to try to explain the unexplainable. Still, the question remains: What are we doing here?”

The role of Boy will be shared by Gordon Paul Miller and Asher Albert Waxman . Understudies include Paul Dunn, John Kirkpatrick , Gordon S. Miller, and Emilio Vieira .

The creative team includes Set and Costume Designer Cory Sincennes , Lighting Designer Jareth Li, and Composer and Sound Designer Alessandro Juliani. Additional artistic staff include Fight and Intimacy Director Anita Nittoly, Assistant Set and Costume Designer Lindsay Forde, Assistant Lighting Designer Sruthi Suresan, Associate Fight Director David Chinchilla, Stage Manager Maxwell T. Wilson, Assistant Stage Managers Brady Hillman and Holly Korhonen, Production Stage Manager Krista Blackwood, Production Assistant Katherine Hunter, Child Performer Advocacy Director Maggie Blake, and Technical Director Robbin Cheesman.

WAITING FOR GODOT officially opens May 30 and runs through July 31 at the Festival Theatre. Tickets are available through the Stratford Festival website and box office.
