For more than 10 years, the summer concerts have been a Columbus summertime staple, showcasing the world-class chamber orchestra's musicians in relaxed outdoor settings. Led by Music Director David Danzmayr, this year, two of ProMusica's principal musicians will be featured as soloists: Principal Flutist Nadine Hur will perform Mozart's Flute Concerto No. 1, and Principal Trumpet Justin Kohan will perform Haydn's Trumpet Concerto in E-Flat Major.
The first two concerts will take place at the Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, 1777 E. Broad St., on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 8:00 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 14, at 8:00 p.m. with children's activities beginning one hour prior. The final concert will be performed at Gahanna's Headley Park, 1031 Callis Springs Dr., on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 7:00 p.m.
“Since 2012, we have welcomed thousands of guests to attend our free Summer Music Series concerts at Franklin Park Conservatory and in neighborhood outdoor venues,” said Janet Chen, CEO of ProMusica. “The series, since its inception, has aimed to provide free concerts for all in the community to enjoy. It's a great place to pack a picnic, bring your lawn chairs, and invite the whole family and friends to experience exceptional musicians in your own backyard.”
