The restaurant has a stylish, contemporary ambiance. With its two spacious floors, there is seating for all parties and generous outdoor space for the nice weather. You will enjoy the scenic view of the Delaware River only a few blocks away. The bar is a popular spot for drinks. Join them for “Social Hour” Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm with exciting cocktail specials. And Revell Hall's upstairs level is ideal for special events, group gatherings and celebrations.
The team behind Revell Hall is enormously talented. It is led by Michelin-starred Chef and Owner, Joey Sergentakis. Initially trained in classic French techniques, Joey’s culinary path took a turn as he developed a deep passion for Asian fare, leading him on a gastronomic adventure across Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Chef Joey has melded palate pleasing Asian flavors in his dishes that create a taste sensation with every bite.
He is joined by Beverage Director, Steve Mazucca who puts creative spins on classic cocktails and crafts inventive drinks you won’t find anywhere else. Steve is always pleased to chat with guests about his inspired mixology techniques and to suggest food and drink pairings. We indulged in a few of Steve’s exquisite cocktails. They included the refreshing Rosewater75 with Drumshanbo Gunpowder gin, Combier watermelon, rose liqueur and lemon topped with Prosecco. Love a great bourbon drink? Then the Old Fashioned Tropicale is for you made with Michter’s bourbon, house-made charred-tropical reduction, Angostura and ginger aromatics, and lemon essence. It is beautiful in the glass and the aroma is wonderful.
We visited Revell Hall on a Thursday night for a marvelous dinner after a pleasant day touring the area. Start with one of the distinctive garden-fresh salads that include Harvest Salad with an herb feta toast, toasted pine nuts and green goddess dressing or the Spring Asparagus Salad with sauce gribiche, herb aioli, egg yolk, and puffed quinoa.
Don’t hold back when ordering appetizers. Table shares are a great way to start your meal and they invite a convivial dining experience. The Ponzu Marinated Tuna Tartare is the best you’ll ever have with shiso, crispy taro, avocado and pear. The Black Garlic-Miso Baked Oysters are an oyster lover’s dream complemented by furikake crumble and charred lemon. We highly recommend the Hokkaido Milk Bun served whipped herb-lemon butter. These soft, delicate rolls should accompany all meals. A favorite starter is The K.F.C. This Koji fried chicken is served with pickled red cabbage slaw and a yuzu kosho ranch. Another go-to is Spanish Grilled Octopus with whipped potato, nduja crumble, romesco, crispy potatoes.
Enticing entrees include choices from three groups, “Pasta and Grains,” “Land” and “Sea.” New on the menu is Chef Joey’s Ricotta Gnocchi & Stuffed Morels. It’s a perfectly seasoned dish like no other served with snap peas, spring onions, aged gruyere cheese in a rich madeira sauce. We suggest a Chicken Dish that is one of the best you'll ever have. Tender, moist and flavorful, Chicken Roulade has asparagus morel, spring ramps ragout, and hazelnut pommes puree, in a dry sherry jus. We’ll be back soon to savor other selections such as the Galbi Marinated Skirt Steak, Cast Iron-Miso Black Cod, and the Spicy Crab Rigatoni.
Dessert tops off your dining experience with housemade treats that are sure to please such as the Elderflower Panna Cotta or Hazelnut Dark Chocolate-Miso Coupe. We settled on the Cherry Skillet Bread Pudding that had just the right amount of sweetness. It is complemented by pistachio gelato, bourbon caramel, mint, macerated strawberries. And while you’re indulging in delectable desserts, be sure to order Steve Mazucca’s S’mores Espresso Martini!
While we were having a relaxed meal, we met some people who were also having dinner. They had recently relocated to Burlington from NYC and had visited Revell Hall several times already. They were so excited to find such a charming restaurant in the area that served gourmet cuisine but was also very welcoming and approachable.
