Roger Taylor of Queen Announces New Solo Album, Shares "Come On Summer"
Roger Taylor of Queen announces his new solo album, "Violence Insane in a Beautiful World," set to release on September 18th via Columbia Records. He has also unveiled the single "Come On Summer (It's Party Time)."
Queen drummer Roger Taylor has announced a new solo album titled Violence Insane in a Beautiful World , set to arrive September 18th via Columbia Records.
In advance of the LP’s release, Taylor has unveiled the single “Come On Summer (It’s Party Time)” featuring the Ndlovu Youth Choir from South Africa.
The album contains 10 songs, including nine originals and a cover of John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy.” The original tracks were all written by Taylor, who sings and performs on the songs alongside members of his live band. The Ndlovu Youth Choir also appear on two other tracks on the album.
Taylor, who also co-produced the album alongside Joshua J. Macrae, stated, “There is a theme, you know, it’s in the title really, what a beautiful world we live in, don’t fuck it up. There seems to be all this insanity at the moment. The violence in the world seems to be as bad as it ever was, at any point, and certainly in my lifetime. It’s just horrific, a lot of insane violence. And we do seem to be fucking up the world, plastics in the sea, you know, and all these awful wars everywhere and hatred born of different religions.”

The album will be supported with a UK tour in September, during which Taylor will be backed by a band featuring keyboardist Spike Edney, supporting drummer Tyler Warren, multi-instrumentalist Tina Keys, bassist Neil Fairclough, and guitarist Christian Mendoza.
