The Grammy -winning country pop icon took to the stage at the 200-capacity venue in Dalston to play her most intimate gig in decades, with fans only able to get tickets through a ballot .
Twain told the crowd that playing at the small venue recalled the earliest days of her career, when she played in bars as a child.
“They would say, ‘Welcome to the stage, little miss Twain’, and that was me! And I would sing my little country songs, and little did I know I would be all the way over here,” she told the crowd, reminiscing about those first performances. “I’m so happy to be here and be reliving some of my youth.”
As well as her biggest hits, ‘Still The One’ and ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’, Twain played covers of Kenny Rogers’ ‘The Gambler’ and ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ by Rednex.
She opened with her new single ‘Dirty Rosie’ from her upcoming seventh studio album, ‘Little Miss Twain’, which she told the crowd is “all based on my life before I got my record contract”.
“And I only got signed in Nashville, Tennessee, when I was in my late twenties, so this was a long buildup,” she continued. “I promise you, I was playing these very same kind of bars all those years from the age of eight years old to my late twenties, and little Miss Twain was trying to become a recording artist. The rest of the story is on the album; you’ll have to listen to the album.”

The gig comes ahead of her opening for Harry Styles on his record-breaking 12-night run at Wembley Stadium next week and into July. Twain is also scheduled for a huge headline concert at Limerick City’s Thomond Park Stadium in Ireland on July 7.
‘Little Miss Twain’ is due for release on Friday July 24 via Republic. It’ll follow on from her 2023 LP, ‘Queen Of Me’.
Speaking to NME when she dropped her last record , Twain remembered the time she was first called “iconic”. This happened when 2002’s ‘Up!’ made her the first – and to date only – female solo artist to have three consecutive albums certified diamond in the US.
“That was when [the icon thing] began, because that was an iconic thing,” she told us. “I think as I was achieving things, I was too busy to celebrate them in the moment. You know, I guess I’m such a committed professional that it’s almost like I just put the blinders on and work.”
In 2024, Twain made her “wish list” performance at Glastonbury come true when she took on the coveted Legends Slot . She also headlined BST Hyde Park in London that summer .
Last autumn saw Twain team up with Sabrina Carpenter on stage at Austin City Limits for a joint version of ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ .
