Stranger Things 5’s Original Score Gets Vinyl Release, Plus Live Show

The original score from the fifth and final season of  Stranger Things   is set to be released on vinyl for the first time.

The Emmy-winning original music for all seasons of the hit  Netflix  show was composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, who are also one half of the Texas-based band Survive.

The 95-track fifth season score will be released in two volumes via Invada Records internationally, with ‘Volume 1’ coming on metallic bronze-coloured vinyl and ‘Volume 2’ in metallic silver. They will both come in a gatefold sleeve and printed inner with full colour photos. Pre-order here .

In the US, it is being released via Lakeshore Records, on 2xLP blue smoke-coloured vinyl with gatefold jacket and full colour printed sleeves. Pre-order  here .

Dixon and Stein are also taking an immersive live celebration of the show’s music on the road, with customised light and fog effects to recreate the series’ distinctive aesthetic, thanks to the visual artist MFO (Marcel Weber). Find tickets  here .

The complete  Stranger Things  collection will also be released on physical media for the first time in July  as a Blu-ray and 4K UHD box set.

The creators of the show, meanwhile,  have said they will be willing to reveal what really happened to Eleven at the end of the series, but not until 2046 .

There were generally mixed reviews of the final episode, with some fans left disappointed by the ambiguous ending, and others left  convinced that a surprise final ninth episode was in the works  to wrap up the loose ends.

The final episode also made waves musically, with  streams of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘When Doves Cry’ more than doubling on Spotify after their inclusion in the last episode. Iron Maiden also celebrated their track ‘The Trooper’ being featured , while  David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ also saw a huge streaming surge .
