The brilliant soundtrack to Nintendo Switch 2 launch title Mario Kart World features original songs alongside a number of remixed classics from across the past 40 years of Mario games.
Earlier this month, the main Mario Kart World soundtrack launched on Nintendo’s dedicated streaming service and now several of the reworked, iconic songs from the game have been added to the Nintendo Music platform.
Eight tracks from 2007’s Super Mario Galaxy and 10 tracks from its 2010 sequel are available to stream via dedicated playlists on Nintendo Music. Five tracks from 1985’s Super Mario Bros. , a trio of songs from 1988’s Super Mario Bros. 2 and eight songs from 1990’s Super Mario Bros. 3 have also been added to the service, which means you can listen to a Latin remix of ‘Ground BGM’ or a jazz fusion take on ‘Underground BGM’ without booting up the racing game.

Eleven songs from the original Mario Kart soundtrack have also been remixed and added to the streaming service, with more reworked classics expected to launch in the coming weeks.
Nintendo Music launched in 2024 as a phone app that gave Nintendo Switch Online members access to a library of 23 game soundtracks. A new game has been added almost every week since, with users also able to create custom playlists alongside extended loops of their favourite tracks.
Earlier this month, Nintendo launched a new web player for Nintendo Music, meaning you can listen at your desktop, on a tablet or while driving. A new My Mix feature will also generate a custom playlist based on your listening history.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has said the Music app is so popular, the company is considering putting on a series of orchestral concert tours but so far, nothing has been confirmed.
In other news, Olivia Rodrigo has teased a new collaboration with Fortnite following the release of third album ‘ You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love ’.
