The Odyssey Tickets Face Skyrocketing Resale Prices
One secondary market listing offered tickets for $1,500 on Thursday night, creating significant problems for buyers.

Ticket pre-sales for director Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in IMAX and other large formats went a bit off course Thursday with apparent issues on sellers’ sites and secondary sellers asking for sky high prices.
Tickets for the film adaptation of Homer’s epic went on sale June 4th at noon and troubles seem to have begun almost immediately with the flood of would-be buyers appearing to have overwhelmed ticketing systems. Delays and malfunctions on AMC, Fandango and Regals sites were reported. Even after the problems were fixed, queues for sales reached hours-long waits, according to some reports.
Scalpers and secondary sellers have invaded the market as well. As of Thursday evening, tickets on eBay for some screenings of The Odyssey were listed for hundreds of dollars up to $1,500 for one IMAX 70mm showing.
